AION 2 has launched Abyssal Forge: Ludra, bringing the returning boss encounter to the game in Normal and Hard difficulties. The 10-player challenge gives groups one hour per attempt, with entry requirements of 2,800 item level for Normal and 3,000 for Hard. The update also introduces new equipment, a login reward track featuring the Lush Leaf Tiara, and limited-time titles for players who defeat Ludra.
For players preparing to take on the encounter, the key distinction is that meeting the item-level requirement only grants access. NCsoft says a successful clear also depends on character progression, knowledge of the fight's mechanics, and coordination among party members.
Abyssal Forge: Ludra Opens in Two Difficulties
The new Sanctuary content launched with both Normal and Hard modes available from the start. Each run has a 60-minute time limit, while Hard is explicitly designed for highly progressed players who can handle demanding mechanics and coordinated group play.
| Feature | Normal | Hard |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum item level | 2,800 | 3,000 |
| Time limit | 60 minutes | 60 minutes |
| Intended challenge | Standard raid difficulty | Top-tier endgame challenge |
Importantly, players do not have to clear Hard to make progress toward Ludra-related equipment. According to the patch notes, both difficulties offer the same categories of item rewards, although their drop rates differ. That gives groups still working toward the higher item-level threshold a reason to start with Normal rather than treating Hard as the only worthwhile option.
The encounter adds several rewards, including Ludra's Weapon, Ludra's Guard, Ludra's Bracelet, the Abyssal Bracelet, Sealed Abyssal Waves Wings, and Artwork: Abyssal Ludra. The listed equipment rewards are bound, so players should view the raid primarily as a progression destination rather than a source of tradable market stock.
The two new bracelets also have different upgrade ceilings: the Abyssal Bracelet can be Amplified up to Level 3, while Ludra's Bracelet can reach Level 5. Players can obtain Ludra's Bracelet through Substance Morph by exchanging the relevant Gear Change Vouchers.
Ludra Awakens Offers a Seven-Reward Login Track
The launch is accompanied by the Ludra Awakens event. Its main check-in track runs from November 4 through November 17 in Pacific Time, with the Central European schedule extending into November 18.
Players need to log in and check in once per day to unlock the next reward. There are seven rewards spread across a 14-day event window, meaning players can miss up to seven days and still complete the track.
| Check-in | Reward | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Bound Kina | 500,000 |
| Day 2 | Centuryroot Token (Shugo Coin) | 2,000 |
| Day 3 | Phantasmal Fragment (Nightmare Coin) | 3,000 |
| Day 4 | Abyss Points | 30,000 |
| Day 5 | Soul Crystal | 3,000 |
| Day 6 | Bound Kina | 1,000,000 |
| Day 7 | Lush Leaf Tiara (Helmet) | 1 |
The final reward gives players a cosmetic reason to complete the check-in sequence, while the earlier rewards provide progression resources. The two Kina rewards are specifically Bound Kina, so they should not be confused with currency that can be freely traded between players.
For anyone planning their login schedule, the important detail is that rewards unlock sequentially. Missing a day does not automatically end participation, but players still need to complete seven check-ins before the event closes.
Extra Odyle Energy and First-Clear Titles
The event also includes an Odyle Energy Boost. From October 28 until the November 10 maintenance in Pacific Time, players can log in once per day and claim four Odyle Energy from their in-game mail. The delivery is limited to one per account per day, and each event mail expires seven days after it is received. The official schedule lists the Central European end as the November 11 maintenance.
Ludra Hunt adds a competitive incentive for groups tackling Hard mode. The first 20 parties to defeat Ludra in each participating region can earn exclusive titles, with different titles assigned according to clear ranking. The event covers Europe, NA East, NA West, South America, and Asia.
Players who defeat Ludra during the event period can also earn the universal Ludra's Nemesis title, even if they do not place among the first 20 Hard-mode parties. The event runs until the November 24 maintenance in Pacific Time, or November 25 in Central European Time.
The November Update Also Changes Progression and PvP
Ludra is the headline addition, but the November 4 patch includes several changes that affect the wider endgame.
Chaotic Outer Reshanta introduces a PvP area where character stats, skill levels, and Stigma levels are standardized. Players can enter from Level 45 and receive three hours of base access per week. The zone offers Bound Kina, Abyss Points, equipment, and crafting materials. However, Abyss Points earned through PvP there are reduced by 50%.
NCsoft also reduced Artifact Siege frequency from three times per week to twice, on Thursdays and Saturdays. To offset the lost opportunity, Abyss Corridor runs now award 50% more Abyss Points.
For players who prefer PvE or have difficulty finding groups, rewards were increased in selected Exploration dungeons, including Draupnir, Vakron Sky Island, and Ferocious Horn Den. The changes include more Bound Kina and materials, with some crafting resources remaining non-tradable. The patch also adds guaranteed-success crafting recipes for certain True Dragon and Star Dragon gear, trading the possibility of a Great Success and tradable equipment for a more predictable result.
These adjustments give players more ways to build their characters around the Ludra release. They also make resource planning relevant: the event provides Bound Kina directly, while dungeon changes offer additional ways to earn bound progression materials. Players looking into AION 2 kina should pay attention to the distinction between bound and tradable currency, as the two are not interchangeable.
What Players Should Know Before Challenging Ludra
The main takeaway is that Ludra is not simply a new boss with a higher entry requirement. It is a structured endgame challenge with two difficulty levels, a fixed run timer, equipment rewards, and a limited-time race for regional first clears.
Groups that are not ready for Hard can still participate through Normal and access the same broad reward categories, while players who want the exclusive ranking titles will need to compete for early Hard-mode clears. Meanwhile, the login track is more forgiving than a conventional seven-day consecutive streak because it allows up to seven missed days within its 14-day window.
One small naming discrepancy is worth noting: NCsoft's Steam event notice lists the final cosmetic as the Lush Leaf Tiara, while its PURPLE Lounge event page calls it the Fresh Leaf Tiara. Both pages describe it as the Day 7 helmet reward. Players should check the in-game event interface for the displayed item name.
For now, the Ludra launch gives AION 2 players a substantial new raid target, additional equipment goals, and several parallel activities to pursue. Whether the encounter becomes a lasting endgame milestone will depend on how players engage with its mechanics and how future updates build on this new content.
