ARC Raiders'side quest Settled in Full Quest, you'll serve Tian Wen and venture to the surface to retrieve a crucial item-Bastion Cell.
Obtaining Bastion Cell itself isn't particularly difficult, but the real challenge lies in securing the rewards for successfully defeating it. Especially when teaming up with other players, issues like reward distribution, aggro management, and extraction routes significantly complicate the task.
Upon completion, you'll receive 30 Raider Tokens. Below are some practical tips to ensure a successful capture of Bastion Cell and help you complete this quest smoothly.
Bastion Locations
While Bastions spawn randomly in various areas of the surface in ARC Raiders, several locations have been identified as highly efficient hunting grounds by players.
One top choice is Loading Bay in Stella Montis. It offers excellent visibility and numerous high points, allowing you to unleash devastating fire on Bastion from above. This area is also very popular, with other players frequently active there, who might inadvertently draw Bastion's attention or even join the siege.
Another preferred location is Marano Park in Buried City. This map has at least three Bastion spawn points: Plaza Rosa, Marano Park, and near Galleria.
Furthermore, the area is dotted with stone ruins, providing natural cover, ideal for players employing guerrilla ground tactics. Additionally, you can try the area near Spaceport departure terminal and container storage area, or participate in Matriarch map event-in which Bastion typically appears as an ARC.
Methods to Defeat Bastion
Quick Strategy
The quick strategy aims to take down Bastion in the shortest time possible. The core method is to use Wolfpack Grenade for saturation bombardment. Wolfpack Grenade is an Epic-quality throwable in ARC Raiders, capable of devastating armored units.
Two Wolfpack Grenades that accurately hit weak points can kill or severely damage a Battlement; even with poor throwing, three are usually enough for a kill.
Note that Wolfpack Grenade Blueprints can be obtained from regular containers in residential areas (such as Ruby Residences and Grandioso Apartments) in Buried City and Dam Battlegrounds.
This strategy is suitable for players seeking efficiency, and with sufficient resources, but requires high throwing accuracy.
Steady Strategy
The steady strategy emphasizes safety and cost control. The core idea is to gradually dismantle a Battlement by accurately hitting weak points. The core weapons used are Ferro and Anvil.
The former is a heavy sniper rifle with excellent armor penetration and low cost (5 metal + 2 rubber), while the latter is a high-damage single-shot pistol; both are S/A-tier weapons.
Bastion has two fatal weaknesses: the yellow tanks at its leg joints and the large yellow fuel tank on its back.
To effectively use this strategy, first circle around to Bastion's side or rear, then use Ferro and Anvil to shoot the yellow joints at its knees-breaking them will paralyze Bastion and knock it to the ground.
While it's immobilized, unleash a barrage of attacks on the large yellow fuel cell on its back. This is its core weak point; continuous fire will inflict massive damage.
During this process, it's crucial to keep moving and use cover to avoid its heavy machine gun fire. This method is suitable for players with limited equipment or those who prefer a more conservative approach; although it takes longer, it's the most reliable.
High-Efficiency Strategy
Master Strategy prioritizes extreme efficiency, achieving a one-hit kill through a combination of numerous high-level Arc Raiders Items, but it carries extremely high risk. The core item combination is Lure Grenade + Photoelectric Cloak + Deadline Mine.
Deadline Mine is an epic-level timed explosive. Upon being thrown, it starts a 6-second countdown, dealing a massive 1000 damage to all targets within a 10-meter radius at the end of the countdown.
The specific operation is as follows: First, use the noise emitted by Lure Grenade to attract Bastion's attention, then activate Photoelectric Cloak-this item makes you completely invisible to ARC equipment for a short period, an essential escape and strategic tool for high-risk routes for ARC Raiders.
Using the invisibility, attach Deadline Mine directly to its armor surface, then quickly retreat out of the blast radius.
This tactic is arguably one of the most threatening mob-clearing methods for ARC Raiders; if successful, Bastion's fortifications will instantly collapse in the explosion.
However, note that Deadline Mine Blueprints only drop in rare containers in high-risk areas (such as weapon crates and hidden hideouts), and each one costs a whopping 18,000 Raider Coins, making them extremely expensive.
If discovered by Bastion during deployment, its heavy machine gun's sustained firepower can kill any player within 2 seconds. Therefore, this mission is only recommended for experienced players with high skill levels who want to maximize speed and efficiency.
Safe Escape
After Bastion is destroyed, you need to retrieve the mission item, Bastion Cell, from its wreckage. The drop of Bastion Cell is random, and sometimes you'll need to spend more time searching for it.
Once you find Bastion Cell, immediately put it in your safe pocket. Bastion Cell emits a pulse signal that can be detected by ARCs, potentially attracting a large number of ARCs. Therefore, you must reach a nearby extraction point as quickly as possible.
