In Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt, players who want to gain Unholy Might can choose to do so by using the two passive skills of Lich Ascendancy, Necromantic Conduit and Blackened Heart.
Although the game shows that Unholy Might can convert 30% of all the damage of the character into additional Chaos damage, the actual calculation method may be different from what you think. The following article will reveal the detailed explanation of Unholy Might for you.
What Is Unholy Might?
Unholy Might is a buff that can convert 100% of physical damage into Chaos damage. But what puzzles some players is that although this damage number looks high, the actual effect is far less powerful than imagined. Now, only by understanding the principle of additional conversion in POE 2 can you understand the reason behind this phenomenon.
If your skill deals 100 Lightning Damage, 30% of that will be converted to Chaos Damage, plus your base damage, so you have a total of 130. It’s important to note that base damage does not convert to Chaos Damage.
For example, when you get Earthbound Voltaic Staff through POE 2 Currency or other methods, it increases your Lightning Damage by 50%, but it does not affect Chaos damage. So, if you have Unholy Might and Earthbound, you can deal 180 Lightning Damage and 30 Chaos damage. Chaos damage is calculated on top of base damage, so your total Lightning Damage is 180.
But when your base damage is Chaos, the scaling values will apply to both base damage and the additional Chaos damage added by Unholy Might. However, the additional damage added by Unholy Might only applies to hits and not to continuous damage.
Because base damage and Chaos damage scale differently, Unholy Might can only be used in a Chaos damage-only mainframe, and only works if it scales according to that damage type.
In addition, you can increase its damage by using Chaos damage modifiers. For example, when your Chaos damage is increased by 50%, the damage is 100 Lightning Damage plus 30 Chaos damage and 15 Chaos damage from modifiers.
What Does Presence Mean In Unholy Might?
Presence indicates the range within which Unholy Might can exert its effect. Presence indicates the range within which Unholy Might can exert its effect. Generally speaking, its effective range is a radius of 4 meters, and you can also expand this range through modifiers. Presence range modifiers usually appear on some important skills, such as Long Distance Relationship, Profane Commander, and Enveloping Essence.
How To Get Unholy Might?
There are two ways to get it:
Vis Mortis Plated Raiment Unique Body Armor
- (70–100)% increased Energy Shield
- +(70–100) to maximum Mana
- Minions have 50% reduced maximum Life
- Minions have Unholy Might
Please note here that when you equip Vis Mortis, only the summoned soldiers can obtain Unholy Might, not your character itself.
Another way to get it is through Lich Ascendancy’s Necrotic Conduit, which grants Unholy Might to you and allies within Presence range when you have enough Mana, but it causes you to lose 5% of your maximum Mana per second.
Through the above introduction, you should have a better understanding of Unholy Might. In future games, you can pay more attention to it and use your ideas to improve your combat effectiveness.
