WoW MoP Classic Phase 2 Scarlet Monastery Challenge Mode Guide | Boss Strategies & Rewards

WoW MoP Classic Phase 2 officially launched on September 23rd. This update adds many new mechanics and content, enriching the player experience.

In Phase 2, Scarlet Monastery Challenge Mode not only expands the quest content but also offers players more diverse rewards, attracting a wide range of players.

Below is a detailed guide to the overall Scarlet Monastery Challenge Mode process and the rewards available.WoW MoP Classic Phase 2 Scarlet Monastery Challenge Mode Guide | Boss Strategies & Rewards

Preparation

Scarlet Monastery is located deep within Tirisfal Glades. It is the first entrance on the left, located within the massive Scarlet Monastery building.

If you're a Horde player, you can enter from Brill, Bulwark, or even from Undercity.

If you're an Alliance player, you'll need to enter from Andorhal in Western Plaguelands.

Because Boss's abilities in this challenge mode can significantly affect the team, We recommend Shaman healers because they can use Wind Shear to interrupt the release of the boss's skills.

This challenge mode also focuses primarily on single-player combat, especially Boss fights, which take up most of the time. Therefore, the team needs high single-player DPS. Therefore, we recommend Death Knight, Beast Mastery Hunter, and Monk.

Rogues offer AoE Stealth ability, allowing for large-scale monster farming, and Shroud of Concealment skill allows the team to temporarily become invisible, avoiding damage for 15 seconds.

When players begin Scarlet Monastery Challenge Mode, a timer will begin counting down to a 13-minute prime time. Players must choose a suitable route within the allotted time, kill 40 enemies, and defeat the three Bosses: Thalnos the Soulrender, Brother Korloff, and High Inquisitor Whitemane.

Challenge Begins

Now, the team chooses a route to begin the challenge. A 13-minute countdown begins.

Thalnos The Soulrender

Upon starting the quest, we'll first encounter a challenge set by Thalnos the Soulrender. He lurks at the back of the graveyard, surrounded by a group of ghostly monsters and a pile of bones.

Thalnos the Soulrender's abilities include Raise Fallen Crusader, Mind Rot, Evict Soul, Evicted Soul, and Summon Empowering Spirit.

  • Raise Fallen Crusader: He summons a Fallen Crusader every second for 5 seconds.
  • Mind Rot: Crusader melee attacks can inflict Mind Rot on players. This skill inflicts Shadow damage every two seconds, with stacking effects for increased damage.
  • Evict Soul: This skill extracts the soul from a random player, dealing moderate Shadow damage every three seconds. The player whose soul has been extracted will first attack the nearest teammate.
  • Summon Empowering Spirit: These spirits will first move toward the nearest Fallen Crusader. Upon contact, they will create an Empowered Zombie.

BOSS will constantly summon Crusaders to attack players. Since these monsters will remain where they are after being attacked and fallen, players must eliminate them in time to prevent their remains from causing more serious consequences.

Farming monsters can yield a large amount of WoW MoP Classic Gold.

When Thalnos the Soulrender uses Evict Soul, Death Knight must use Control Undead to block the ability and prevent allies from being disabled. Because Empowered Zombies are larger and more powerful, they must be eliminated quickly upon appearance.

Players should focus their attacks on Boss to defeat it, saving time and hurrying on to the second Boss.

Brother Korloff

Brother Korloff's abilities include Blazing Fists, Firestorm Kick, Rising Flame, and Scorched Earth.

Blazing Fists: Korloff unleashes a flurry of fiery blows in a cone-shaped area in front of him every second for 6 seconds. Avoid standing in front of Boss during this flurry of fiery blows, as this will inflict significant damage.

  • Rising Flame: This Boss's attacks become more powerful with each 10% health loss, and the fire damage becomes even more severe as the fight progresses.
  • Firestorm Kick: It charges towards the farthest player, unleashing fire damage around it. This Boss is large and possesses powerful attacks.
  • Scorched Earth: When Korloff's health reaches 50%, it creates a large fire trail every second in each area it moves.

The team can assign one player to lure Korloff out, while ranged players focus their attacks on him. When it hides between melee players, it's important to quickly pull it out. This prevents it from summoning helpers while allowing ranged players to continuously attack it.

Tank players should keep Boss near fountains or walls, avoiding other team members. When the fire trail it creates reaches 50%, ensure Korloff moves between two points. This prevents the fire from affecting other areas, keeping the fight clean and efficient.

After its health reaches 30%, attacking it becomes more difficult, requiring focused fire. Shamans should pay attention to their teammates and provide timely healing. Ranged players should constantly dodge and focus their attacks when hit by Firestorm Kick.

High Inquisitor Whitemane & Commander Durand

After defeating the second Boss, players will face the third Boss. This involves a two-stage fight against High Inquisitor Whitemane and its Commander Durand.

The first stage involves a battle against Commander Durand, whose abilities include Flash of Steel and Dashing Strike.

  • Flash of Steel: He dashes towards players around the room, dealing physical damage.
  • Dashing Strike: He dashes towards players, attacking anything in his path.

When his health reaches 50%, High Inquisitor Whitemane will personally join the fight and put everyone to sleep for 10 seconds. Durand moves quickly, so players must coordinate to prevent him from charging. The faster you kill him, the safer you'll be when Boss joins the fight.

High Inquisitor Whitemane's abilities include Power Word - Shield, Holy Smite, Mass Resurrection, and Dominate Mind.

  • Power Word - Shield: This ability grants an ally a shield that can be used to block damage.
  • Holy Smite: High Inquisitor Whitemane attacks his current target with holy magic.
  • Mass Resurrection: This ability can be used to revive all downed Scarlet troops in the room.
  • Dominate Mind: This ability can be used to control a player for 30 seconds.

A Death Knight or Shaman must prevent Whitemane from casting Mass Resurrection, otherwise a flood of enemies will flood the room, hindering progress and leading to failure.

In addition, Shamans must use Wind Shear skill to interrupt the third Boss's Dominate Mind cast, otherwise players will lose control and attack their allies. This is especially true for Shaman Healers, as being controlled can easily lead to a team wipe.

After Whitemane resurrects Durand, Shamans immediately use Bloodlust, increasing the attack damage and attack speed of all damage players and restricting the abilities of the targeted enemy. Players must attack Whitemane and his allies simultaneously to share the damage.

After defeating all three Bosses and completing the challenge within the 13-minute prime time, players will receive WoW MoP Classic Gold and Path of the Scarlet Mitre.

That concludes Scarlet Monastery Challenge Mode in WoW MoP Classic phase 2, along with the rewards players can earn by completing the quest. We wish you a wonderful gaming experience!
